Only the freshest and purest ingredients go into this batch of ice cream!  Whole milk, cream and the seeds from an organic Grade A vanilla bean, churn together (manually or electrically, you decide) to create a 5-star vanilla ice cream much like they used to make from the dairy cows on The Hayes Family Farm.  Ice cream cones, cups, cherries and sprinkles garnish this tasty treat.  More of a chocolate lover?  We’ve thrown in some Oreos for you to churn out a cookies and cream flavor as well!

You will be provided with enough to make 48 ounces.  Although recipes call this enough for 12 servings, around here we call it 6 full cup servings and countless memories!

All of the ingredients needed, along with a wooden churn and simple instructions, will be waiting for you when you arrive.  Enjoy the first batch so much, you want to get creative and try another?  Go ahead … the wooden churn is yours to use throughout the duration of your stay, but please leave the churn inside your rental unit when you leave.

S’mores are good, but some more s’mores … even better!   Hideaway has gathered up the fixins for the ultimate S’Morgasbord! You simply gather family and friends around the fire, roast the marshmallows and get creative.  Sure, you’ll get all the ingredients to make classic s’mores, but that’s just the beginning.  Chocolate-covered strawberry s’mores?  Chocolate-covered pretzel s’mores? Let Hideaway take your campfire experience to the next level with sweet supplies and a list of yummy and unique combos.  Expect the unexpected!

Want to keep it simple? Hideaway will have all of the ingredients for classic s’mores ready and waiting for you – chocolate bars, marshmallows and graham crackers plus a little Hideaway surprise).

Who doesn’t want to hideaway sometimes?  Disappear?  Go to a new place where you can’t be found?  Treat yourself to a 60- or 90-minute massage with one of Hideaway’s experienced massage therapists. You’ve taken the first step by getting out of the daily grind with your journey to Hideaway.  Now journey a bit further to a place of internal peace, where things are quieter, slower and restorative.

Since the cabooses do not have space to set up a massage table, this service is only available to those staying in the river retreats and depot.  The Relaxation Station, a space for quiet and renewal, is scheduled to open in 2025 and will allow Hideaway to open up massage services for our caboose guests as well.  Stay tuned!

When you head home, keep the Hideaway frisbee and surprises as a memento of your picture-perfect picnic!

Want to use Hideaway’s picture-perfect picnic basket with all the extras, but provide your own lunch?  That’s an option too!  Simply choose NONE of the lunches but select YES to the picnic basket.

Chef Katie Mosher of River Willow Culinary Services has put together a family-style menu designed for sharing and creating lasting memories. Guests can create a meal of their choice from a variety of soup or salad options, entrees including salmon, short ribs and others, and colorful desserts including bread pudding and brambleberry cobbler.

Available to parties of 4 or more who are staying in the River Retreats and The Depot, as these rental units are the only ones with full kitchens.

Tracy was Ordained as an Interfaith Minister through All Faiths Seminary International and the New Light Temple in New York City, NY in 2015, and is a registered wedding officiant with the State of Ohio.

Please note:  In Ohio, witnesses are not required.  Every county in Ohio has different requirements for who submits the license to the Court House, so couples should check if they are able to submit or if they need the officiant to mail it in.  If a couple is from a state other than Ohio, they have to get the license from the county in which they reside.  If outside the state of Ohio, the couple should also ask if the minister needs to be registered with that state (which an officiant can do online).  Finally, couples need to ask if they need to get two licenses – one to file and one to keep for their records.

Hideaway guests can arrange for a musician to come and entertain you for a few hours.  Your cabin?  One of our hideouts?  Alongside the river?  Acoustic guitar, bluesy soul, a star in the making … the choice is yours!

Wind alongside two miles of the historic Hayes Family Farm before ending up back at the Hideaway property on this quiet float down the Hocking River. Along the way, you will find yourself anticipating the changing landscapes waiting around each bend in the river, most of which is canopied by towering sycamores, often a landing spot for our resident eagles. Join (and hopefully see) the blue heron, otter, ducks and geese that all visit these waters. As you approach the Hideaway property, you will get a duck’s eye view of our river retreats from below. With water depths usually averaging under one foot, this easy ride is the ideal way to kickstart your morning before a small rapid near the end announces your arrival back at Hideaway.

• Meet at The Cove on the Hideaway property at 10:00 AM.
• Please be sure that ALL GUESTS have completed the attached Watercraft Safety Regulation form before arriving at The Cove.
• A Hocking River Yacht Club (HRYC) guide will pick you up here and transport you to their private kayak launch site just up the road, where your kayak will be ready and waiting. They can accommodate up to 10 guests per trip.
• Life vests and paddles are provided.
• Please bring only those items you want to bring with you on the kayak. There are no lockers at the launch site. We do have water bags you can put your personal items in if you would like, but HRYC is not responsible for lost or damaged items.
• The expected length of the trip is 45 minutes to 2 hours, depending on the kayaker’s skill level, water level and flow, and any stops made along the way.
• This trip is NOT GUIDED.  You are going on your own.
• When you reach the landing site, simply pull your kayak up onto the shore, making sure it will not get pulled back into the water and text the HRYC team to let them know you’ve arrived.
• Once you’ve pulled the kayak out of the water, place the life vest, paddle and water bag (if used) in your kayak and simply head back to your cabin or caboose.
• All kayaks must be returned to the kayak landing site by 1:00 PM, when the Hideaway crew will pick up the kayaks.
• NOTE – This experience is totally dependent on the weather and river conditions.

Create your own edible masterpiece under the guidance of Flour & Thyme’s Keely Shaye.  She has been creating colorful cakes for Hideaway guests and now you can make your own and take it home with you.  Chef Keely will demonstrate the techniques she uses and will then guide you through the process.  Get as creative as you want decorating your own 6″ two-layer cake that has been made to your liking.  You choose the cake flavor, the filling and the frosting and then bling out with the edible flowers and other decorations she’s provided.

Enjoy you own 30 minutes professional photo shoot throughout the Hideaway property with no limit on the number of poses.  Perfect for family photos, special occasions or as a memento of your stay, you will get 15 – 20 digital photos with no watermarks.   Additional photos may be available.
